Welcome
Aloha and Welcome,
It has been an incredible year of growth, artistry, and hard work in the BYU–Hawaii Voice Program. Tonight’s recital showcases a wide range of vocal styles—musical theater, art song, opera, and commercial music—performed by a dedicated group of student singers. Whether they are exploring their voices for the first time or continuing to refine their craft, each performer has brought commitment and courage to the stage.
I’d like to express deep gratitude to my voice faculty colleagues, Dr. Erica Glenn and Prof. Catherine Morris, for their excellent teaching and mentorship. Their contributions have shaped this vibrant studio community.
Our collaborative pianists, Stacy McCarrey, Jennifer Duerden, Erie Tse, and Miku Nakazawa, (along with the other student accompanists, Margo Hull, Yuka Inoue, Ye Chen, and Haerim Cho) also deserve heartfelt thanks. Their artistry and flexibility make these performances possible.
Most importantly, thank you to the students for their willingness to grow, take risks, and share their voices. Your effort and heart are what make this evening so meaningful.
